Reverend Nicholas Darby, Assistant Priest
Father Nick was ordained in 1974 at Guildford Cathedral and since has devoted more than 50 years to parishes and communities near and far .
He became the chaplain at London University responsible for University Church of Christ the King and was later assistant chaplain at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.
From 1991 – 2004 he was vicar of the Barn and St Luke’s churches in Kew and then set off to Gaborone, Botswana as Dean of Holy Cross Cathedral from 2004 – 2008. Returning to the UK he joined St James and St Basil Fenham in Newcastle as their vicar from 2009 – 2017 and was also a national selector of candidates for ordination. Father Nick was canon of Newcastle Cathedral and area dean for Newcastle West.
He retired in 2017 and joined St Anne’s, Kew as an associate priest.
