There are so many ways to get involved with St Anne’s in addition to worshipping here. Our church thrives thanks to the many people who offer their time, talents and skills. It is a great way to join a thriving community and meet new people.
We welcome everyone to the many teams who contribute to the life of St Anne’s. If you would like to learn more about any of these roles and how you can help, please get in touch.
Servers: Our team of servers assists the celebrant at the altar on Sundays.
Sidespeople: Our sidespeople meet and greet people who come to our services, give out service sheets and hymn books and guide people at communion.
Sunday school leaders: our junior church leaders lead and assist our young people who take part in Little Annies each Sunday, with planned activities, Bible readings and songs.
Holy dusters: our team of holy dusters keeps the church looking its best. They meet on Saturday mornings.
Flower arrangers: our creative flower arrangers obtain and arrange the flowers in church for special festivals and every Sunday other than during Lent.
Gardeners: members of our gardening team keep the churchyard attractive and tidy.
Sunday morning coffee servers: our Sunday morning coffee team provides coffee and tea in the parish room after the 8.00 am and 10.00 am services.

During the Summer from early May until mid-September, we serve drinks and delicious homemade scones and cakes at competitive prices in St Anne’s church hall. Our visitors enjoy the friendly atmosphere created by our team of volunteers and, if they wish, the opportunity to take their tea outside and watch the cricket on Kew Green.
Many of our regular visitors also attend the summer concerts that take place in church starting at 3.30 pm during these months.

The Friends of St Anne’s, Kew bring together people who have a particular interest and affection for St Anne’s church. The Friends raise funds to help maintain the fabric of the church and churchyard for future generations, finance special restoration projects and promote awareness of the church and its place in the history of Kew.
Over the last 25 years the Friends have funded several key projects including the restored church path; repair and restoration of the south porch; updating and extending the flood lighting on and around the church; restoration and conservation of the tombs of Thomas Gainsborough, Johann Zoffany and Thomas Gardiner.
Members of The Friends of St Anne’s enjoy a varied programme of events and talks. Membership is £25.00 per person per annum.

St Anne’s pledges a notable percentage of its income to the Diocese of Southwark’s Parish Support Fund, which resources God’s mission across the diocese. St Anne’s donation provides not only the finance required for our own clergy, but also helps to fund clergy stipends and other associated costs.
At St Anne’s we also donate to local charities and raise funds through events and collections on designated Giving Sundays for local, national and international charities agreed for a three-year period. Members of the charities we support are invited to St Anne’s to discuss their work and help us understand how our donations are used.
St Anne’s also supports the Richmond Vineyard Community, providing a warm welcome and a cooked lunch in the church hall several times a year for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or other challenges.
