The vicar’s deep dives

The Deep Dives take place at 7.30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month in the parish hall, preceded by Eucharist at 7.00 pm in church. Each one lasts around an hour and all are welcome!

21st October (NB date): Anselm – Why a God-Man? (1033-1109)

25th November: Peter and Heloise Abelard (1079-1142, 1100-1164) – On Love and Salvation

24th February: Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) – Girl Power in the Middle Ages

31st March: Maimonides and Nachmanides (1138-1204, 1194-1270) – Jewish takes on Medieval Christianity

28th April: Thomas Aquinas 1 (1225-1274)  – A Philosophy of Being

26th May: Thomas Aquinas 2 – Proofs of the Existence of God

30th June: Dante (1265-1321) – Sin, Death and Hell

28th July: Meister Eckhart (1260-1328) – Mysticism and Emptiness.

25th August: Duns Scotus and William of Ockham (1266-1308) – On Reason

Bible study

Our Bible study group meets weekly in person on Wednesdays at 11am in the Parish Hall to study and discuss the Bible and its teachings from both the historical and contemporary perspective and is open to all.
