The vicar’s deep dives
The current series of Deep Dives is on Theologians and Disputes of the Early Church as 2025 marks the 1,700th year since the Council of Nicea gave us the Nicene Creed. The focus of these lectures is on how the theology of the early church developed laying the foundations of Christian theology.
The Deep Dives take place at 7.30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month in the parish hall, preceded by Eucharist at 7.00 pm in church. Each one lasts around an hour and all are welcome!

- Original Sin: Augustine (354-430 CE) and Pelagius (354-418 CE), 25th March
- Donatism, 29th April
- Development of Early Spirituality (Pseudo-Dionysius), 27th May
- Monasticism (St Anthony and Egypt), 24th June
- Eastern Christianity, 29th July
- Iconoclastic Controversy in eight/ninth centuries, 26th August
- Anselm (1033-1109 CE) and Salvation, 30th September
Bible study
Our Bible study group meets weekly in person on Wednesdays at noon in the Lady Chapel to study and discuss the Bible and its teachings from both the historical and contemporary perspective and is open to all.

The Friends of St Anne’s Church
All tickets for Friends events are available from our website.
On Tuesday 3rd June at 7:30pm (after Eucharist) in the church, Steven McRae, Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet, will be in conversation with Giles Fraser.

On Saturday 7th June at 11am (coffee served from 10:30am) in the Parish Hall, Lee Davies, Fungarium Collection Manager at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, will present a fascinating talk on Madagascar: Forget lemurs, the fungi are fabulous.
