Music at St Anne’s
St Anne’s is a musical hub for Kew. Music at services, provided by a variety of choirs, sits within the Anglican choral tradition, and the church is a venue for concerts given both by professionals and local community groups. A variety of one-off events and projects are offered, including ‘come and sing’ days, where the public are invited to join our choirs to rehearse and perform works in a few hours. On important occasions the choir is often joined by professional soloists and instrumentalists. Throughout Lent 2025 the Director of Music will perform a programme of Bach’s organ music, with two or three works presented at every sung service.

St Anne’s choir
The principal choir at St Anne’s consists of volunteers. The choir leads the worship during the 10.00 am sung Eucharist on Sundays and at other special services throughout the year, including the popular Advent and Christmas carol services. The repertoire is varied and ranges from medieval plainsong through the Tudor and Victorian periods to the present day.
We welcome new members who enjoy church music and can make a regular commitment to singing with us. Choir practice takes place every Wednesday evening. For further information, please contact Joshua Hales, Director of Music at St Anne’s.
Choral evensong
At 6.30 pm on the first Sunday of every month there is a service of choral evensong sung by a professional choir. This service provides an opportunity to engage quietly and reflectively with music and readings.
Junior choir
St Anne’s has a thriving children’s and young people’s choir which sings with the church choir on the first Sunday of the month. Currently the Junior Choir is at capacity. Please contact the Junior Choir Leader, Marion Goodgame if you are interested in learning about opportunities to join in the future.

Summer concert series
St Anne’s hosts a series of summer concerts every Sunday, starting at 3.30pm and lasting for around 45 minutes, from the beginning of June until the end of August. The series features a range of high-quality musicians.
Many of our concert goers enjoy home-made cakes and tea in the church hall when the concert is over.
Information on our summer concert series for 2025 is available in our Calendar.
